Segunda condicional — Second Conditional

התנאי השני מתאר מצב דמיוני, לא סביר או מנוגד למציאות בהווה או בעתיד. המבנה: If ועוד עבר פשוט, ואחריו would ועוד פועל בסיס.

  • If I had more time, I would learn the piano.אילו היה לי יותר זמן, הייתי לומד פסנתר.
  • What would you do if you won the lottery?מה היית עושה אילו זכית בלוטו?

במבנה הקבוע If I were you (ולא was) נותנים עצה. ההבדל מהתנאי הראשון: התנאי הראשון עוסק באפשרות ריאלית, ואילו התנאי השני במצב דמיוני.

  • If I were you, I would apologize.אם הייתי במקומך, הייתי מתנצל.
  • If we lived by the sea, we would swim every day.אילו גרנו ליד הים, היינו שוחים כל יום.

⚠️ Errores comunes de los hispanohablantes

  • Usar will en lugar de would para una situación hipotética: *If I had money, I will buy* en lugar de I would buy.
  • Usar presente en lugar de pasado después de if (para hipótesis): *If I have a car* en lugar de If I had a car.
  • Usar was en lugar de were con I/he/she en la estructura fija: *If I was you* — la forma estándar es If I were you.
  • Añadir would también después de if: *If I would have time* en lugar de If I had time.
  • En español el condicional y el pasado a veces se confunden, lo que lleva a mezclar el Past Simple con would + forma base.
